White blood cells or lymphocytes are very critical to human health because they are a big defense against invaders and parasites. They also have a bonus job of helping the healing process begin. They destroy germs by making a chemical formula called antibodies which destroy or stop invaders. There are also B and T cells. T cells are like scouts and look for invaders and tell the B cells to make antibodies to attack. The B cells have an amazing ability to remember how to make antibodies for a specific invader so if they come back you mostly have an immunity. If your bones ever feel a little fragile after being sick or ill it is because white blood cells come from bone marrow and during an invasion they are made and needed most.
